We offer the following library resources and services to assist you in taking online classes at Owensboro Community & Technical College. (You should receive an email regarding this information at the beginning of each semester.)
Thousands of full-text journals, magazines, and newspapers are available to you in various databases on the OCTC Library website. To access from home, you will need to use your KCTCS computer/email user ID and password. For instruction on how to use the databases, helpful tutorials may be found on the Help with Research page, as well as citing information and helpful library guides.
More than 141,000 full-text electronic books such as reference works, scholarly monographs, literature and fiction are available in the EBSCOhost eBook Collection. The books can be downloaded for a limited period of time on your computer or portable reading device for off-line viewing. (Adobe® Digital Editions 1.7.1 or higher is required for offline viewing.) Also available is an updated collection of eBooks in the Gale Virtual Reference Library.
Thousands of streaming videos are available in the Films on Demand collection. A user account may be created to take advantage of all features, which include making folders, favorites, and playlists.
