Faculty Receives Award

Greta McDonough of Owensboro was the first place winner of the Emma Bell Miles Award for Essay at the Heritage Literary Festival's writing contest at Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tennessee. She was on of four recipients of this award and won for her essay entitled, "Appalachian Writers Workshop--A Pastorale." McDonough is a professor of human services, and serves as the program coordinator, at Owensboro Community amp; Technical College. She also has an essay featured in the Music Anthology, "Writing by Ear," and is working on an early reader chapter book.
