OCTCS SPEECH DEBATE TEAM EARN HONORS AT MURRAY STATE UNIVERSITY
The OCTC Speech Team competed at the Ruby Krider Memorial Speech Tournament on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Murray State University.
OCTC speakers earned top honors by winning the Community College Sweepstakes Awards. The team earned additional honors as individuals, as noted. Coleen Richling a Freshman from Hawesville, Kentucky earned first place in Radio Broadcasting and she earned straight 1st place rankings in prelims and in the final round of competition. Richling also earned the tenth spot in Pentathlon, and a fifth place honor in Dramatic Interpretation. Kelsey Clark placed eight in Pentathlon, third place in Novice Poetry, third place in Novice Informative, and sixth place in Dramatic Interpretation. Conner Goodwin, placed fourth in Novice Communication Analysis, and was a Finalist in Dramatic Interpretation. Also competing for OCTC in Impromptu and Radio Broadcasting was Britney Allen.
The team will compete in the Kentucky Forensics Association State Speech and Debate Tournament hosted at Gateway Community and Technical College.
