BOOST Your Future: A Fall 2025 Scholarship Opportunity at OCTC

by Kadie Boone - July 1, 2025

BOOST, short for Building Opportunities One Step at a Time, is designed specifically for first-time freshmen enrolling at OCTC for the Fall 2025 semester. It helps students complete key steps to enroll—and gives them the chance to win one of 18 scholarships worth $1,000 each.

What is the Boost Scholarship?

BOOST is open to incoming freshmen only. Once students complete the required enrollment steps, they’ll be entered into a drawing to win $1,000 toward their fall tuition or expenses.

To increase equity and access, Pell-eligible students will be entered into the drawing twice, giving them an extra boost in the selection process.

How to Qualify

To be entered into the drawing, students must complete all of the following:

  • Submit an OCTC admissions application
  • Complete the FAFSA
  • Meet with a START Center advisor
  • Register for at least 6 credit hours
  • Attend a BOOST Open House
  • Submit the paper BOOST scholarship application

Application Deadline: August 1, 2025

Attend a BOOST Open House

Every Tuesday in July, OCTC hosts BOOST Open Houses from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Students can pop in anytime during the day—you don't have to stay the whole time. Get one-on-one help with your admissions steps, complete your FAFSA, register for classes, and grab a snack while you're here.

It’s a relaxed, supportive environment designed to make getting started as easy as possible.

Why boost?

  • $1,000 can make a real difference
  • One-on-one support to help you succeed
  • No essays or GPA requirements
  • Designed to remove enrollment barriers
  • Priority consideration for Pell students
