Automotive Program is Nationally Recognized

Owensboro Community amp; Technical Colleges Automotive Technology Program has received Master Accreditation from the National Automotive Technician Education Foundation.

A program that is NATEF accredited shows the community and industry we are teaching our students at the highest level of automotive standards to ensure their success in the industry, said Mike Rodgers, director of academic affairs at OCTCs Southeast Campus.

The Master Accreditation is the highest level of achievement recognized by NATEF.

The explosion in automotive technology makes your high quality training program more valuable than ever, NATEF President Patricia Serratore wrote in a letter to OCTC President Jim Klauber.

The evaluation process includes an examination of purpose, administration, learning resources, finances, student services, instruction, equipment, facilities and instructional staff. NATEF representatives visited the automotive program in November.

They went through our tools, curriculum, every inch of our facility, Rodgers said.

Klauber said OCTC is very proud of its Automotive Technology Program.

Mike and his staff have worked diligently to make our program one of the premier programs in the country. We have transformed our facilities, equipment and instruction to make sure our students receive the best training available, Klauber said. Automotive Technology is a high-demand field, and our graduates have very promising futures.
