Biden Keynote Speaker at OCTC Commencement

Dr. Jill Biden, Second Lady of the United States of America, will deliver the Spring 2014 Commencement address for Owensboro Community amp; Technical College (OCTC) in Owensboro, Kentucky. The ceremony will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at 7 p.m. at the RiverPark Center located at 101 Daviess Street, in Owensboro. Dr. Biden, an educator for more than 30 years, teaches English full-time at Northern Virginia Community College while continuing to fulfill her duties as Second Lady.

OCTC offers 29 associate degrees and 34 certificate programs to a student population of more than 4,200 students, serving the region of Daviess, Ohio, Hancock and McLean counties. Programs at OCTC equip students with the skills they need to succeed in career opportunities immediately after graduation, including high wage, high demand options, as well as preparation for transfer to four-year colleges and universities. OCTC has developed partnerships and collaborations with other universities, including Western Kentucky University, the private sector, and federal agencies.
