Boyd Earns CMPI Certification

Owensboro Community and Technical Colleges Vicki Boyd, Director of Adult Education Services in the SkillTrain department, has recently become a Certified Manager in Program Improvement (CMPI). This national certification is the first of its kind in the adult education and literacy field and signifies Boyd as a member of an elite group of professional managers. To receive this credential, Academy participants must meet the requirements of an intensive two-year training program and complete a program improvement project within their organization or agency. Kentucky is one of only nine states in which adult educators have achieved this national certification.

About the Leadership Excellence Academy The Leadership Excellence Academy was developed by the National Adult Education Professional development Consortium and ProLiteracy to support continuous improvement and high quality educational services for adult learners. Academy participants complete an intensive two-year training program based upon current research on adult learning and best practices for adult education and literacy programs.
