Oak Island Theatre Presents Story Theatre

Owensboro Community amp; Technical Colleges Oak Island Theatre will present Paul Sills Story Theatre on Thursday and Friday, April 10-11 at 7:30 PM in Blandford Lecture Hall, located in the Humanities Building on the main campus of OCTC at 4800 New Hartford Road. Ticket scan be obtained at the door, through a $5 donation to the college. This production is family friendly entertainment with a flair.


Paul Sills' Story Theatre is a play with music, adapted from fairy tales collected by the Brothers Grimm. Sills was a pioneer in improvisational theater, adapting techniques from his mother Viola Spolins books and teachings. The stories are interpreted and retold through mime, music, and improvisation. Stories and fables in the OCTC adaptation include: The Little Peasant, Bremen Town Musicians, Is He Fat, The Robber Bridegroom, Henny Penny, The Master Thief, Venus and the Cat, The Fisherman and His Wife, Two Crows, and the Golden Goose.


Directed by Dr. Julia Ledford the cast includes: Allen Eby, Eric Harmon, Court Lewis, Alex Macke, Jared Norris, Ethan Rowland, Ceary Thomas, Louisa Torres.


Interested media are invited to attend dress rehearsal on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Blandford Lecture Hall.
