OCTC Faculty Earns National Honor
Owensboro Community and Technical Colleges (OCTC) Fred Wright, an Automotive Technology Instructor was named as the recipient of the 2014 New Teacher Award by the North American Council of Automotive Teachers (NACAT) at the annual conference in July, held in Greenville, South Carolina. This award is given by NACAT to an instructor based on an outstanding program, the ability to deliver quality instruction to students, promoting academic professionalism in automotive education, and enhancing partnerships with educators, industry, and educational institutions.
Dr. Jim Klauber, president of OCTC related, This award is just one example of the benefits that accompany attaining national certification of programs. We truly believe our faculty are among the best in the nation and now we have ways to prove it!
Mike Rodgers, the Southeastern Campus Director commented, This award is a result of Freds daily efforts in the classroom and lab. It highlights the quality of the automotive program and the quality of our faculty at OCTC. Our instructors are constantly enhancing curriculum and working to increase their knowledge in order to provide an innovative education experience for our students.
