
OCTC HOSTS DERR EXHIBIT
A Wanderers Perspective: The Artworks of Todd Derr
Dayman Gallery, OCTC
An exhibition entitled, A Wanderers Perspective: The Artworks of Todd Derr is on display in the Dayman Gallery located at OCTCs main campus. The exhibition opens August 17 and closes September 18. An artists reception will be held on Friday, August 28, from 7 to 9 pm, and the public is invited.
The exhibition includes a selection of oil paintings by Todd Derr, a local Kentucky artist. Derr states, This body of work has been created in the past year. It encompasses my love of the natural world and an ongoing love of working en plein air. Durr has exhibited his work in the Owensboro Museum of Fine Art and the Evansville Museum of Arts and Science. He is scheduled to a hold gallery talk with the visual arts students of OCTC in the upcoming month.
The Dayman Gallery is located on the 2nd floor of the Learning Resource Center. Gallery hours are Monday through Thursday 7:45 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday 7:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information contact Monty Helm at 686-4626. The late Chris Dayman was the founding art program coordinator at OCTC and the college named the gallery in his honor. OCTC serves Daviess, Ohio, Hancock and McLean counties in Kentucky.
