OCTC HOSTS FARM TO TANK PROGRAM

Owensboro Community and Technical College (OCTC) will host guest speakers on Tuesday, November 11, at 12:30 p.m. in the Chandler Conference Center, in conjunction with the Common Reading program, for Farm to Tank presentations. Featured speakers are Tom Verry of the National Biodiesel Board and Pam Keck of the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA). The speakers will discuss how corn and soybeans are converted and used as biofuels. The presentations are supported by OCTCs Transportation Technologies programs, who are expanding the program curriculum to encompass all alternative fuel options.

Dr. Jim Klauber, President of OCTC, commented that OCTCs alternative fuels initiative are the future of the transportation industry. Our students and community need to understand the benefits of these fuels to the local economy.

The event is free and open to the public. The Chandler Conference Center is located in the Advanced Technology Center, room 116, and is located on the main campus at 4800 New Hartford Road, Owensboro, KY.
