OCTC OAK ISLAND THEATRE PRODUCTION
THURSDAY, MARCH 31 SATURDAY APRIL 2, MAIN CAMPUS

While the premise is a music-hall allegory that examines the British class structure of the 1960s, the similarities with contemporary culture are obvious. Sir and Cocky, who represent the upper and lower classes, play a game with ever-changing rules, acknowledging the premise that few get out of life everything they desire. The ensemble features performances by Dr. Court Lewis, Cory Burdette, Val McCrary, Shelby Simmons, Layson Brooks, Sr., Aaron Payne, Brian Storm, Jeremy Winstead, Jared Norris, Rebecca Thwaites, Grayson Bryant, Isaac Settles, and Sierra Hagan. This diverse ensemble includes members of the community, high school and college students within the region, and OCTC Faculty. Oak Island Theatre director Dr. Julia Ledford, Associate Dean of the Humanities Division, has staged each of the OIT productions since 1989. Each production and ensemble provides a unique challenge. OIT attempts to provide opportunities for creative expression amp; artistic growth said Dr. Ledford. The musical director for the production is Dr. Connie Ford, with choreography by Joy Bowlds, and accompaniment by Ann Jeanette Pierce.
Musical numbers such as Who Can I Turn To? and A Wonderful Day Like Today, propel the production toward the conclusion that true contentment lies in the heart. Performances will be held in Blandford Lecture Hall in the Humanities Building on the OCTC main campus at 4800 New Hartford Road, Owensboro. Tickets may be purchased at the door each evening starting at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $5 for students and $8 general admission.
