OCTC STUDENT ART AWARDS

Owensboro Community and Technical College (OCTC) is hosting an end of semester student art exhibit. The exhibit is located in the Dayman Gallery on the second floor of the Learning Resource Center on OCTCs main campus. Gallery hours are Monday through Thursday 8 a.m. - 7 p.m. and Friday 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. For more information contact Monty Helm at 270 686-4626.

The Juror for the Spring 2012 exhibition was Heather McNeiley, Assistant Professor of Art Brescia University.The winning works of the end of semester student exhibit become part of the OCTC permanent collection and are displayed around the campuses. Monty Helm, Associate Professor of Art at OCTC said, "The OCTC permanent collection is growing thanks to the support of the OCTC Foundation and private donors who recognize the importance of the art created by our students." Helm selects the juror each semester and encourages students to participate in the exhibit. "Displaying student art enhances our campus culture and encourages creative expression, this is a great program and I always look forward to seeing the student exhibit at the end of each semester" said Dr. Jim Klauber, president of OCTC.
