OCTCS ASH HONORED AS A TEACHER WHO MADE A DIFFERENCE

Owensboro Community amp; Technical Colleges Angela Ash, Assistant Professor of History was honored at the 17th annual Teachers Who Made a Difference ceremony, part of the UK College of Education. This award gives all individuals the means to thank an educator who has impacted their lives. Nearly 2,000 teachers have been honored since the programs inception.

The UK College of Education prides itself on preparing great teachers, said Mary Ann Vimont, the colleges director of public relations and student, alumni and community affairs. As part of our mission, we also think it is important to honor those teachers who are making a difference in the lives of their students, here in Kentucky and across the country.

Ash who has been at OCTC since January of 2011, was nominated by OCTC student Robin Hawks and they attended the ceremony on April 18, 2015. I am truly honored and humbled by this award it means so much to be appreciated by your students, and Robin was so thoughtful to nominate me for this honor. I am also very impressed with the UK College of Education for recognizing so many teachers over the years. I feel incredibly fortunate to be able to do what I love, which is teach history. said Ash.
