OCTCs LEWIS CELEBRATES NEW BOOKS

Court Lewis will celebrate the release of two new books from Open Court Press. More Doctor Who and Philosophy: Regeneration Time will be released on November 3, and is the second volume on Doctor Who hes co-edited with Paula Smithka. Courts second book, Divergent and Philosophy: The Factions of Life (also from Open Court) will be released in early November. He has also been named the series editor for Vernon Presss new series on the Philosophy of Forgiveness, which will result in the publication of several edited collections on the topic of forgiveness.

Dr. Lewis is an Instructor at OCTC, since 2012, teaching Philosophy, Religion, and First Year Experience courses, and serving in leadership roles on campus as part of the team developing the colleges Quality Enhancement Plan. His previous experience included Visiting Assistant Professor, at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and Lecturer, at both Pellissippi State Community College, and the University of Tennessee. Dr. Lewis graduated from the University of Tennessee with a doctoral degree in Philosophy, earned a Masters degree in Philosophy from the University of Southern Mississippi, and his undergraduate degree from the University of Southern Mississippi is in both Philosophy, and History.

As a result of his work on the philosophical issues featured in Doctor Who, hes been invited to be a guest of honor at two prestigious conventions in 2016. He also speaks at local events and teaches PHI 160: Philosophy Through Pop Culture to help promote the exciting and dynamic Humanities programs at OCTC.
