OCTCS SPEECH DEBATE TEAM EARNS HONORS AT NATIONALS

Owensboro Community amp; Technical Colleges (OCTC) Speech amp; Debate Team attended the 30th Pi Kappa Delta Nationals at the University of Kentucky March 16-20, 2016.

Owensboros Novice National Parliamentary Debate (NPDA) team of Rhett Knott and Sharon Richling made it all the way to the finals. Rhett Knott, also earned a tenth place speaker award, in a division with nearly 100 debaters. Owensboros other debate team of Jacob Grant and Josie Monarch advanced to the elimination rounds on speaker points in the Junior Varsity division of NPDA. Sharon Richling competed in Interviewing and Sarah Beth Caudill placed well in Congress, a model legislative competition.
