PLTW Network Site Certification

Owensboro Community and Technical College's (OCTC) Project Lead The Way (PLTW) program is the first in the Commonwealth to receive a Site Network Certification with OCTC, Apollo High School and Hancock County High School. The program received accolades for its partnership model, which is being touted as a model for the state and will be shared on a national level. The program was reconized for providing access and rigor for students and commended for innovation in leveraging its people and capital resources. The accreditation team noted that this was the first time a PLTW program was a part of the local Economic Development strategic plan.

"The postivie comments that the group received from the site team speaks volumes for the quality of our partnerships with Apollo and Hancock County schools." said Dr Jim Klauber, president of OCTC. OCTC Associate Dean, Dr. Stacy Edds-Ellis commented, "The Site Network has worked together since 2008 to create outstanding STEM opportunities for students through Project Lead the Way. It is an honor to be the first in the State to receive certification via a network partnership. This has truly been a collaborative effort with one goal in mind to provide a rigorous hands-on STEM learning for students."
