Speech Debate Team Earns Honors

Owensboro Community and Technical Colleges speech and debate team earned honors during tournaments Feb. 1-2 at Murray State University.

OCTC student Sarah Clark of Stanley placed fifth in informative speaking, sixth in persuasive speaking and sixth in dramatic interpretation. The hybrid parliamentary debate team of OCTC student Jim Lammers of Hartford and Murray State student Tony Oxx placed third in the novice division. OCTC earned team debate honors, including third in the community college sweepstakes and fifth in the team sweepstakes.
