OCTC Art Purchase Awards-Fall 2009

Owensboro, KY (January 11, 2010) OCTC hosted the second semester of the annual Art Purchase Awards competition in conjunction with the end of semester exhibit. This is the second semester of what we hope will become a tradition for the college. The students received art materials as awards and will have the honor of having their pieces become a part of the colleges permanent collection. The contest was well received by the students and Professor Monty Helm secures an independent , qualified judge to ensure the contests credibility.This semesters Juror for the exhibit was Larry Fink, head artist for the Evansville Courier Press.

The awards were as follows: Best in Show-Jean Alley, oil painting, Landscape; First Place Painting-Jordan Voyles, oil painting, Embracing Your Mistakes; First Place Drawing-Casey Howard, charcoal drawing, Untitled; First Place 3-Dimensional Art-Emily Hatfield, blue ceramic vessel, Untitiled.
