OCTC Faculty Promotions
Owensboro Community amp; Technical College is proud to announce the following faculty promotions effective July 1, 2016.
Donna DePasquale, Instructor in the Department ofMathematics,has been promoted to assistant professor. DePasquale earned her undergraduate degree in Mathematics Education from Morehead State University, and her master of science degree from Western Kentucky University in Mathematics. She has been with OCTC since 2013.
Dr. Courtland Lewis, who teaches philosophy and religion, has been promoted to assistant professor. Lewis earned threedegrees from the University of Southern Mississippi, abachelor'sin philosophy, abachelorsin history, and a master of arts in philosophy.He earned his doctoral degree in philosophy from the University of Tennessee. Lewis has been with OCTC since 2013, specializing in Ethics and Social-Political Philosophy (specifically, forgiveness and justice), he is a published author, and is considered an expert inDoctorWho, examining philosophy through this and other popculture phenomena.
Lori Donahoohas been at OCTC since 2015,prior to that she taught at Henderson Community College. She is activein the Department ofNursing and hasearned a promotion to assistant professor. Donahoo earned her associate applied science innursingfrom OCTC and abachelor of science innursing from Western Kentucky University; her master of science innursing degree is also from Western Kentucky University. She is currently working on herdoctor of nursingpractice degree atWKU. She has attained anurse educator certification from the National League of Nursing,isan active member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, the Kentucky Nurses Association, and the Kentucky League of Nursing.
Angela Ash is an OCTC alumnus, she teaches in the Department ofHistory and has earned a promotion to Associate Professor. Ash earned her undergraduate degree in history from Brescia University, hermaster's degree in History from the University of Louisville, and is currently working on a doctoral degree through Western Kentucky University. Ash is Secretary of the Owensboro World Affairs Council, serves as the faculty advisor for the Hager Scholars program, and has been teaching at OCTC since 2011.
Bethany Ebelhar has been teaching in the Department ofNursing since 2008, and earned a promotion to associate professor. She earned her undergraduate degree in Nursing from Murray State University, a graduate degree from Murray State University in Nursing with a focus in Education.
Cassandra (Casey) Hamilton has been promoted to associate professor. She has been theprogramcoordinatorfor TeacherEducationsince January, 2011 and teaches a First Year Experience course. Casey graduated from Brescia Universitywith an elementary and middle school education degree in 1995, and completed a master's in school counseling through Western Kentucky University in 2002. In 2008, she received her Rank I in school administration through theUniversity of Tennessee-Martin. She graduated from Leadership Owensboro in 2012. Hamilton also serves as the co-sponsor for Cornerstone Campus Ministry.
Connie Johnson has been employed by OCTC since 1988, she transitioned from the staff to faculty in 2010 and has been teaching in the Division of Computer amp; Information Technologies since then. Johnson is being promoted to associate professor, she earned an associate degree in Office
Administration from OCTC, a bachelors degree from Murray State University, and her masters in business administration from Morehead State University. Johnson serves on thecommittee thatorganizesthe annualGG Talbott Road Race.
Dr. Meredith Skaggs began her education career at OCTC as a Discover College student, transferring to Georgetown College, earning a bachelor's degree in 2008. She went on to earn a master's degree from Western Kentucky University in 2009, and a doctoral degree from Western Kentucky University in 2014. Dr. Skaggs is being promoted to Associate Professor, she currently teaches communication courses, directs ourFirst Year Experience program while teaching sections of the course, serves as faculty sponsor for our student organizationCornerstone Campus Ministries, and works alongside our high school partners coordinating concurrent enrollment courses.
Randy Crowe earned a promotion to professor. Randy teaches Computerized Manufacturing and Machining in the Division ofAdvanced Manufacturing. He has been at OCTC since 2002, he earned a bachelor of science degree from Western Kentucky University. Crowe also facilitates customized courses for business and industry through the Workforce Solutions division at OCTC.
