Admissions Policy

Owensboro Community and Technical College (OCTC) welcomes all individuals with a desire and commitment to achieve post-secondary educational goals.

A student enrolling at OCTC must submit an application for admission. Students may be admitted as freshmen, as students with transfer credit from other institutions, as visiting students, or as non-degree students. We admit students who have graduated from high school, who have earned a high school general equivalency diploma, who are eligible to pursue a GED, or who are dually enrolled in high school and the college.

OCTC is an equal educational and employment opportunity institution and does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, sex, national origin, age, disability, family medical history, or genetic information. Further, we vigilantly prevent discrimination based on sexual orientation, parental status, marital status, political affiliation, military service, or any other non-merit based factor.

For detailed procedures and additional information, please visit the “Admission” section of the current KCTCS catalog.
