As a Discover College Dual Enrollment student at Owensboro Community and Technical College, you can earn college credit by attending classes on campus.
Technical - Students attend technical career pathway classes for a half-day on one OCTC's four campuses. Tuition is free up to 12 credit hours per year; state funds are used to pay tuition. Students can receive both college and high school credit for their work. Programs are open to juniors and seniors. Students are usually responsible for books and supplies. Transportation is typically provided by the school district.
General Education - Students attend classes, on one of OCTC's four campuses, aimed for transferring to a 4-year university Students assume tuition costs associated with transfer courses and can receive both college and high school credit for their work. Programs are open to juniors and seniors who must provide their own transportation and are responsible for books and supplies.
Early College - Students attend classes on campus at OCTC full-time during their junior and senior
years of high school. Typically this allows the student to graduate simultaneously
with a high school diploma and an associates degree. The tuition is covered through
scholarships, self-pay, or experimental Pell grants. Students are responsible for
transportation, books and supplies.
